Home remedies

  1. Honey: Honey is believed to soothe dogs’ coughs and colds. A teaspoon of honey with their meals is advisable. However, due to its high sugar content, it is not right for diabetic or obese dogs.
  1. Broth: Broth can be added to the dog’s meal to make it more appealing, hydrating and makes it smell and taste better.
  1. Fluids: Hydration is important to colds. Fresh and clean water is highly recommended for your pets.
  2. Coconut oil: As an infection fighter, coconut oil helps kill harmful bacteria, viruses, yeast, fungi, and parasites. A teaspoon of coconut oil is recommended for every 10 pounds of dog weight per day.
  1. Warm foods: Rotisserie chicken, scoop out canned tuna, warm low sodium chicken or beef broth are needed by your pets to beat the cold.

Colds can be another symptom of another illness. So, it is better to consult your veterinarian.
